Nursery School
The Kobokan nurtures young children in the spirit of Christianity, respecting each individual child and helping them to develop in both body and mind.
The increase in the number of socially independent working mothers and changes in the structure of the nuclear family are having a serious effect on the raising of children in Japan. The Kobokan aims to provide complete nursery care by offering special care for infants and extended hours nursery care. It also aims for 'free nursery' that nurtures children with their individual personalities in mind. Some 160 children (present number 170) aged 0-6 years attend the nursery school. The 50 staff members co-operate with parents and guardians and provide counseling regarding family life and the raising of children, together with nourishment and health guidance.
